Professional Communications Certificate


This specialized UOIT five-day (5) certificate program concentrates on the written, verbal and leadership skills required by managers, supervisors, and professionals. This program expands on the Professional Management Certificate by concentrating on the immediate skills necessary for every day performance.

Participants may choose to complete all five courses listed here to receive a formal certificate, or may choose any of the following courses to best suit your training needs.

  • Writing reports that work is one of the most effective and direct ways to effectively sell your ideas
  • Learn the strategies necessary to run high impact and effective meetings
  • Identify common meeting pitfalls, chairing skills, managing in-meeting disagreements and uncovering undisclosed agendas
  • Clarify work requests and eliminate wasted time and money
  • Manage conflict and issues to enhance engagement and reduce the possibility of dispute
  • Identify various styles of positional problem solving and negotiation
  • Explore a principled, interest based approach to problem solving and negotiation
